Mubarak Took 80 percent of Votes
President Hosni Mubarak won Egypt's first contested presidential race, according to a preliminary count Thursday. Mubarak took 78 percent to 80 percent of Wednesday's polling and opposition candidate Ayman Nour took 12 percent. An official on the electoral commission gave the preliminary count to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to release the results. A final count was expected Friday.
