Fifteen minutes of fame: Among a handful other local blogs, Secret Dubai Diary, a blog about expat life in the UAE, was blocked for several weeks this summer. Further: A magazine publisher's license where withdrawn after a cover exposed to much female skin. Even the NYT's content triggered the Internet filters to implement a block. More: The law enables bureaucrats and private citizens to make trouble for journalists, even having them arrested and put in jail.
