Success Story: Cutting Female Genitalia

Right, there is nothing about female genital mutilation (FGM) that could be described in a positive term. Rather, as this good report shows, where the effort is made to end the practice, ‘only’ 30 percent of the girls are butchered, compared with 90 percent some years ago.

Please Suzi, since efforts against FGM in Egypt generally are under your auspice, tell us about the statistic. The last survey that is always reported claim a 97 percent figure, but we all know it is not that high nowadays, especially not in the great cities like Cairo and Alex. What is the percentage today?
