Brotherhood Taken to Task

Mona Eltahawy has interviewed the supreme leader of the Muslim Brotherhood:

The Zionist entity has raped the land of Arabs and Muslims. Power is the only language that the Zionist entity understands. How can we recognize it (the treaty)? Who has recognized Camp David ? Have the people? We will put it to the people as a referendum of course. The people are the ones who decide and have the right to determine this. If the people say no there won't be a treaty.
That is the foreign policy we can expect if they ever come to power. Putting a bilateral treaty to popular referendum is of course pure populism but the underlying ignorance of statemanshift is similar to what we have seen in Iran for too long. Someone might also want to tell the Brotherhood leather that the treaties of a previous government doesn't cease to bind a country when a new government takes over. If you want a new treaty, you're back to the negotiation table. Just breaching it puts you on the accused's bench in the international courts of justice. That is speaking against a wall, of course. Such things will not matter in the new Islamist state.

Eltahawy is discussing the Brotherhood's Islamist policies and urge us to have a discussion about this organization now, before they reach political power. Eltahawy also ran a column along these lines in WP last week.
