Tractor Falls in Canal - 13 Killed

Thirteen people, mostly children aged 11 or 12 on their way to work in fields, were killed on Friday when a farm tractor pulling a trailer fell into an irrigation canal near Beni Suef. The tractor driver and three other people survived.

Earlier in the week, a bus went down in a canal in Minya. Seven people died; 5 are missing and presumed drowned; 14 were injured. Last Tuesday, 31 people were killed in Beni Suef when a candle started a fire in a crowded theatre.
