I Was Blind But Now I Can See
In Alexandria, 200 policemen had to keep some 3,000 demonstrators from entering and disrupting a controversial play staged in the Coptic St. Gergis church. The play “I was blind but now I can see,” features a student who is converting to Islam after promises of money and is threatened when he later wish to return to Christianity. Muslim leaders said the performance, which also was distributed on DVD’s, was offensive because it “tells you how Muslims are all terrorists and how they deceive Christians to convert to Islam either by force or money.

I am a Muslim and I doesn't sound to be ffensive but that shows that there is ultra sensitivity between Muslims and Copts these days. If there is Copts that will convert to Islam because of monetary rewards or the contrary than we are preaching something else but not belief!!!

I'm not Muslim nor Egyptian, but it seems to that conflicts between Copts and Muslims are increasing in recent years.
I'm guessing, but I suspect that on the Copt side it has to do with the fact that Christians can convert to Islam without penalty, but Muslims risk death for converting and any Christians around that Muslim convert risk all kinds of trouble.
That's the issue of this play, right?

What do all these Muslims have against Christianity?
Are they afraid that if their sons/daughters hear about the truth of Jesus Christ they may realize that their entire nation is being forced to believe that Jesus was just a prophet instead of letting them seak the truth for themselves?
Maybe someone should start a campaign to distribute Mel Gibson's "The Passion" so that more can understand that the death of Jesus on cross was payment for their sins and that whomever believes in Him and repents of their sins will go to heaven. It is as simple as that... repent of your sins, belive that Jesus' death on the cross was payment for your sins and you are saved for eternity. No need for ritualistic prayer, no need to become a perfect person, just a simple prayer to God to ask for forgiveness of your sins and a belief that Jesus is Christ. For more information pick up a Bible or go online and read these for books in the Bible: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. You may then begin to understand what Christianity is all about.
In Him and For Him.

I wonder what would happen if Christians started rioting in the streets everytime someone offended them... which by the way - happens a lot more than people think!
I think "some" muslims just need to a get a grip and stop living in the dark ages! I would love to see this DVD that has caused to much turmoil... Seems to me that when someone gets mad about something like this small group did - that there must be some truth to it.

I was going to keep my mouth shut but I can’t help it after reading these remarks an comments. We the humanity has not reached the level of maturity to understand that behind all this violence is religion organized or otherwise. The thought that the so called creator has come down on earth and shed some blood so that we are somehow saved is ridiculous. The reality is no one knows including me and all those idiots who say they are enlightened and saved etc. We need to get a grip on and realize that what ever damn religion or idea we believe we have to respect each other and tell our believes without being harassed or arrested by an agent of governments. Peace to all!!

The reality is that is God became flesh and dwelt among us. His Name is Jesus.
He died on calvery for our sins. Without the shedding of blood ther is no remission of sin. We can choose to believe or not it does not change the facts. Three things must happen for eternal life.first admit you are a sinner. second believe Jesus died for your sins. Third ask Jesus into your heart. It doesn't get any simpler. The alternative is Hell. I don't like the alternative.

The actual reality is that there is no GOD as you and the all organized or otherwise religions would like everyone to believe. There are no mysterious forces in the universe and we have to come to grips with reality and understand that there are a lot of questions the science currently have no answer yet. That’s because we the humanity still on a low and of a big learning curve. As we evolve and study our environment and universe answers to most of these questions will be revealed through science only!

Who cares what you believe. Believe in God or don't. Believe in Jesus or dont. It doesnt effect me what so ever. But the reality is... these people who are rioting are just reenforcing the idea of muslims being terrorists. They get offended when someone insults them by calling them terrorists, so what do they do, kill those people!!! They are just proving to the rest of the world that "hey, these christians are right, we are terrorists." Just like with that CNN reported who called extreme muslims a terrorist organization. The extreme muslims went back to him and said "hey we are not terrorists, you better appologize or we'll kill you!" Just so everybody knows, by writing this, I have a good chance of being killed, just like that family in New Jersey.

I believe in Jesus. But that being said, this goes far deeper than religeon itself. These are conditioning tactics by governments from both sides to incite hate and dissention among peoples of 2 different (in this incident)races so that we will beg for the NWO's help. basically They create the problem, get our reaction ,and then they give us the cure for it....the NWO.Think it's conspiracy? The words came right out of George Bush Sr. mouth in 1991.Every president who has ever meant anything has discussed it incessantly over the years...And of course the Bible mentions it quite frequently. Anyway, back to the point. No religeon at all should deny the life of a person or their existence. The people doing the killing have the right to live, who are they to take the life of another, just because they believe something. I say that no god is worth worshipping that demands the death of millions of people for a single cause of singularity and unity of a particular people. I suggest that the same God created ALL men and women, thats why theres not so much difference between all of us when you take the government stage, rhetoric and propaganda out of the mix. Without impressionable gov't we as a world would most likely get along well. As for the "there is no God" statement above and that science is the true god? Well, I have been in the military, and as for your Big Bang theory (the explaionation of the core of all that exists concerning scientology and the like?) First off, common sense dictates that you can't get an expolsion or anything else from nothing at all. Furthermore, as for the "Big Bang", I dealt with explosives in the military some and all I ever saw a Big Bang (or explosion) create,............was a big mess. Just stop killing people for a selfish, God only loves me and hates the rest of the world mentality, we are smarter than this aren't we? This is not a popularity contest, IT'S LIFE! A chance everyday, to learn from the past and make the world a better place by a simple handshake and a good word to another. To kill someone is no better than some of the unlearned men from long past. Popularity and favoritism contests are for highschool and modeling agencies to toy with,......God favors us all. Rewards will be just after all.
